FOUNDER · CEO
Rodrigo builds the cloud and AI systems that turn raw device data into decisions: cloud architecture, machine learning applied to real-world telemetry, and edge computing, where processing moves close to the source to cut latency, bandwidth and cost. He spent over a decade as a senior consultant at Hewlett-Packard in Brazil and Germany, delivering enterprise technology at scale across two continents, and has since built connected-hardware and AI systems for organisations across Brazil, North America and Europe. At SenseWorks he owns the cloud and AI layers of the stack and leads the company's commercial and research strategy, building the partnerships and consortium relationships that give a young company access to capability well beyond its size while driving funding across public innovation agencies and private investment in parallel. He holds a BSc in Computer Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, in Porto Alegre, Brazil — the institution behind SenseWorks' scientific advisory board, and is a Fellow of the MIT Advanced Study Program.

Guilherme has spent his career turning ideas into silicon. Before founding SenseWorks, he served as a technical leader on industrial IC projects and consultant to Silicon Valley companies, building teams that shipped ultra-low-power CMOS sensing front-ends, AI-accelerated systems-on-chip and their compiler toolchains, and control electronics for industrial-grade quantum computers, most recently taking a heterogeneous multi-accelerator RISC-V edge-AI SoC from architecture to 16 nm tapeout, complete with its software stack. His research career spans KU Leuven's MICAS Labs (with imec R&D), KIT and the University of Stuttgart; his PhD, awarded summa cum laude with two national distinctions, pioneered cross-layer methods trading just-enough accuracy for lower system energy. He is a Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico and Integrated Researcher at INESC-ID, both in Lisbon, author of ~100 papers on energy-efficient circuits and systems, and serves on the technical program committees of DAC and ESSERC.

Full professor of digital systems and mixed-signal microelectronics at the UFRGS Informatics Institute in Porto Alegre, Brazil, since 1986. B.Sc. in Electronics Engineering and Physics (UFRGS), M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (Stanford). Former coordinator of PGMicro, the UFRGS graduate programme in microelectronics; technical director of CEITEC, Brazil's national semiconductor company; and past president of both FAPERGS, the Rio Grande do Sul state research foundation, and SBMicro, the Brazilian microelectronics society. Research spans IC design, ultra-low-power digital CMOS, analogue and mixed-signal circuits, and architectures for video and image processing, with over 5,600 citations.

Full Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), in Porto Alegre, Brazil, where he has built a 36-year career in research, teaching and university–industry collaboration, including heading the department in 2010–2011. He holds a B.Eng. and M.Sc. from UFRGS and a Dr.Eng. from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). He leads the Analogue, Mixed-Signal and RF Microelectronics Group (GME AMS/RF) and is a permanent faculty member of PGMicro, with over 120 papers in international journals and symposia. His expertise spans low-power, low-voltage analogue, mixed-signal and RF integrated circuits, and MOS device and variability modelling, including a widely cited compact model of MOSFET mismatch. He is an IEEE Senior Member (Circuits and Systems, Solid-State Circuits Societies).
